Capturing info using every part of your PC

Most trojans on the net exist to steal private info like credit card number and password. They do this using keyloggers so when you type your password or credit card number it's captured into a log and downloaded later.

But the keyboard isn't the only part of your PC that can capture data. So when some banks started using virtual keyboard, trojan writers started capturing mouseclicks and framebuffer bitmaps to get your PIN.

And then there's more that can be captured. You can also capture silently from the speaker output and mic input. So your voice chat with your lover can be captured. So VoIP data don't even need to sniff, just capture straight from the source, save as MP3! Consider that apps like Skype encrypt the data packets, then capturing the packets is useless. But if you capture straight from the source, then why worry about encryption? More interestingly is that you have a few methods of capture, either via DirectX or MDI.

What other parts of the PC can capture data silently? Well how about webcam? Yes! You can turn on the webcam using a trojan without the victim knowing... then you can take pictures or videos straight from the webcam. Friends, don't walk around naked infront of your PC ok?
